“Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.”
Psalm 34:5
Psalm 34:5
There is something transformative about turning our gaze toward God. Scripture doesn’t say those who look to Him might be radiant—it says they are. Radiance is the natural result of a heart fixed on the Lord. It is not a glow we create through effort, perfection, or performance. It is the reflection of His presence shining through us.
Shame dims the soul. It whispers that we are not enough, that our past defines us, that we should hide from God rather than draw near. But Psalm 34:5 declares a different truth: when we look to Him, shame loses its grip. His love covers what shame tries to expose. His forgiveness removes what shame tries to remember. His grace lifts our face when shame tries to push it down.
Looking to Him means turning our eyes away from what weighs us down and fixing them on the One who lifts us up. It means trusting His character more than our failures, His truth more than our feelings, His promises more than our past.
Today, choose to look to Him. Let His light fall on you. Let His presence make you shine. Shame cannot stay where God’s glory dwells. May you walk in this truth today.

1. Lord, help me keep my eyes fixed on You. Ask God to draw your attention, thoughts, and heart toward Him so His presence becomes your focus above all else.
2. Jesus, remove any shame that tries to cling to me. Invite Him to heal areas where shame, regret, or past wounds still affect how you see yourself.
3. Father, make me radiant with Your love and peace. Pray that His light, joy, and confidence would shine through you in every situation.
4. Pray that at Friends Church, people will be freed from their shame. Pray for those who come into our Worship Center, that they will hear the freedom they have in Christ and realize that God’s love covers what shame tries to expose. May more and more people live in that freedom in 2026.
