“Death has been swallowed up in victory, Where, O death, is your victory? Where O death, is your sting?”
1 Corinthians 15:54-55
1 Corinthians 15:54-55
Paul’s words of triumph declare one of the greatest promises of the Christian faith: death does not have the final word. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, what once held ultimate power has been defeated. Death, once feared as an enemy, has been swallowed up by God’s victory.
Because Jesus rose from the grave, death’s sting—sin and separation from God—has been removed. What remains is not despair, but hope. Not defeat, but triumph. This truth reshapes how we live and how we face life’s hardest moments. Grief may still come, but it is not without hope. Fear may arise, but it is not without assurance.
The resurrection reminds us that every ending in Christ is also a beginning. Brokenness will be restored. Loss will be redeemed. What seems final now is temporary in light of eternity.
Today, let this victory strengthen your faith. When fear whispers or sorrow weighs heavy, remember the empty tomb. Death has been defeated, and eternal life is secure. Because Christ lives, we live with courage, confidence, and unshakable hope—now and forever.
