“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”

2 Corinthians 5:21
Paul reveals the staggering depth of God’s love and justice. Jesus, who was completely sinless, took on the weight of our sin so we could receive His perfect righteousness. Imagine the exchange: our failures, guilt, and shame placed on Christ, and His holiness credited to us. It is not because of anything we have done, but because of what He has done.

Through this divine transaction, we are no longer defined by our mistakes or shortcomings. Instead, we are defined by Christ’s righteousness—holy, accepted, and beloved in God’s sight. This truth transforms how we see ourselves and how we live. It frees us from self-condemnation and empowers us to live in gratitude, obedience, and love.

Today, reflect on the magnitude of this gift. The same God who forgave your sins also clothes you in righteousness. Stand confidently, knowing your identity is secure in Christ. Let this truth shape your heart, your words, and your actions as you walk in the freedom of His perfect exchange.
1. Lord, thank You for exchanging my sin for Your righteousness. Praise God for the gift of Jesus taking your sins and giving you His holiness in return.

2. Jesus, help me live in the reality of this righteousness. Pray for the strength to walk daily in the freedom, confidence, and identity that comes from being made right with God.

3. Father, show me how to reflect Your righteousness to others. Ask God to use your words, actions, and choices to honor Him and share His love and holiness with the world.

4. Lord, as a church, help us embrace the righteousness You have given us through Christ. Pray that the congregation would collectively recognize our identity in Jesus, live in the freedom of His exchange, and reflect His holiness, love, and grace in our unity and witness to those around the corner and around the world.
