“God demonstrated His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8
God’s love is not cautious or conditional—it is bold, willing, and wonderfully undeserved. Romans 5:8 reminds us that God’s love did not wait for us to change or clean ourselves up. He didn’t love us because we were good; He loved us when we were at our worst. In the very moment we were most unlovable, Christ stepped forward and gave His life for us. This is love that pursues, initiates, and sacrifices.

We often measure love by how people treat us or how well we perform. But God’s love has no such scale. It doesn’t rise when we do well or fall when we stumble. It is anchored in His character—not our behavior. The cross is the permanent proof that His love is steady, unwavering, and deeply personal.

Today, rest in the truth that you are fully known and fully loved. Let this reminder quiet your fears, soften your heart, and draw you closer to Him. And as you receive His love, ask Him to help you reflect it—to love others not because they deserve it, but because Christ first loved you. Please pray for these things as God gives you His love as you live for Him in 2026.
1. A deeper revelation of God’s unconditional love. Pray that the Holy Spirit helps you truly grasp how loved you are—right now, not when you “get it all together.” Ask God to make the truth of the cross more real, personal, and transforming in your heart.

2. Freedom from shame, guilt, and striving.
Because Christ died for you while you were still a sinner, pray for freedom from any mindset that says you must earn God’s approval. Ask God to break the power of condemnation and help you live confidently in His grace.

3. A Christ-like love for others.
Pray for the ability to love people the way Jesus loved you—sacrificially, patiently, and without waiting for them to deserve it. Ask God to help you extend grace in difficult relationships and reflect His heart in all your interactions.

4. A church that reflects His love.
May Friends Church be a place where people feel, experience, and know this God of love. May we be the frontlines of His love that is shared freely to all who walk through our doors.
