“Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.”

Romans 8:17
Being called a child of God is already overwhelming, but Scripture takes it even further—we are heirs. This means we are not merely welcomed into God’s family; we are given a share in His inheritance. Everything God has promised through Christ, is now extended to us through grace.

An heir lives with confidence, not insecurity. An heir doesn’t strive to earn what already belongs to them. In Christ, we inherit God’s love, His presence, His promises, and the hope of eternal glory. We stand alongside Jesus—not because we deserve it, but because He graciously invites us to share in what is His.

This truth reshapes how we face life’s challenges. Even suffering, Paul explains, is not meaningless. As co-heirs with Christ, our present struggles are temporary compared to the glory that awaits us. We are never forgotten, overlooked, or abandoned.

Today, let this truth sink deep into your heart. You are not living for approval—you already belong. Walk boldly, love freely, and trust deeply, knowing you are an heir of God, securely held in His family and destined for His glory.
1. Father, thank You that I am Your child and an heir with Christ. Praise God for the privilege of belonging to His family and sharing in the inheritance He has promised.

2. Lord, help me live with confidence in my identity as Your heir. Ask God to remove fear, insecurity, or striving, and help you walk boldly in faith and trust.

3. Holy Spirit, strengthen me to trust You through both blessing and suffering. Pray for endurance and hope, knowing that present challenges cannot compare to the glory you will share with Christ.

4. Father, as a church, we thank You that we are Your children and heirs with Christ. Pray that Friends Church would collectively live with confidence in our identity, walk in unity as God’s family, and trust Him through every season as we anticipate the glory we share in Christ.
