“We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being
transformed into His image with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord,
who is the Spirit."
2 Corinthians 3:18
transformed into His image with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord,
who is the Spirit."
2 Corinthians 3:18
In this single verse, Paul reminds us of a breathtaking truth: transformation is not something we manufacture—it is something we receive. When we turn our eyes toward Christ, the “veil” that once kept us from seeing clearly is removed. We are invited to behold Him openly, honestly, and intimately. And in that beholding, something miraculous happens: we begin to look like the One we look at.
Transformation in Christ rarely happens in an instant. It is “ever-increasing,” unfolding day by day, moment by moment. Even when we feel stagnant or imperfect, the Spirit is faithfully shaping us—softening what is hard, healing what is wounded, and strengthening what is weak. Your part is not to strive harder, but to keep turning your face toward Jesus.
Today, pause and contemplate His glory—His kindness, His purity, His patience, His love. Let the Spirit remind you that you are already in the process of becoming who He created you to be. The more you behold Him, the more His likeness shines through you. Today as you pray, pray for the Lord to do these things in your life, as you begin this new year.

1. A clearer vision of Christ’s glory - Pray that the Holy Spirit would remove any “veil”—distractions, fears, doubts, or lies—that keeps you from seeing Jesus as He truly is. Ask for a renewed ability to behold His beauty, character, and presence each day. Pray you would see Him more clearly in 2026.
2. A willing heart for transformation - Ask God to shape your attitudes, desires, and actions so they reflect the image of Christ. Pray for the humility to surrender areas that need changing and the courage to follow where the Holy Spirit leads.
3. Greater sensitivity to the Holy Spirit - Since this transformation “comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit,” pray for ears to hear His voice, eyes to notice His work, and a spirit that responds quickly to His guidance. Ask for deeper dependence on Him as He forms Christ’s likeness in you.
4. Friends Church reflects the glory of God - Pray that the glory of God and Him alone is seen in and through our church and our people. As we seek to honor and glorify Him, around the corner and around the world.
